Are leaders born or are they made?

Do you become a leader by simply announcing yourself one or do you need a special appointment? It is hard to say that leaders should be made of the same tough stuff. But to have a successful leadership and to possess the qualities of genuine leader, one must also be willing to sacrifice in order to learn.

Leadership is essential to a nation’s or company’s success. It is valuable to a team pursuing one goal. It is important to have the right leadership in a group encountering a crisis. It is significant to companies undergoing a lot of changes in their organization.

More often than not, leaders serve as the shock-absorber, the problem solver and the guide that everybody else follows. These roles have been exhibited by great leaders for centuries.

Becoming a great leader involves perseverance, patience and a lot of leadership skills and characters. Having these qualities will definitely prove to be an advantage, but if you’re lacking in some then these can develop over time. It also involves initiative to learn and the discipline to make things better.

It also involves taking care of others’ needs before their own and the readiness to help in times of crisis and hardships.

It’s hard to perfect the art of leadership. Some even say that it’s really lonely at the top. Becoming a great leader will require much of your strength of character and will. But it is definitely the most rewarding task. It is said that leaders are the shapers and the movers of this world. Without them, life will be in chaos.
